Window painting is the application of non-toxic poster or tempura paint on glass. I spent years painting designs on windows of businesses. While those paintings are often four by six feet, designs can also be done on smaller areas. Along with powdered paint (mixed in small containers), I will supply Posca brand paint pens. I will have photos of possible applications, from bathroom mirrors, to living room windows.
The paint is water soluble and light fast. Unless it gets direct rain-laden wind, the drawings can stay up for years, although it is easy to remove.
Day one: intro to materials, design process for large areas, and experimentation with techniques. I have enough material for 12 people. If anyone has foam brushes—ideally 1” to 2.5” wide, or sable long bristle brushes—those are usually ideal.
Day two: work from design or further experimentation. Be ready to photograph your work. Life is ephemeral; and it will be washed off.
You may bring your own windows, but make sure all raw edges are taped. I will have 6 small easels for working on.
