Joyous #815

Joyous – 30″ x 24″; acrylic on canvas

Joyous is the second of the Energy Rising series.

Last spring, I had been wading through several books discussing the vibrational energies of musical notes, and then the vibrational energy of different wave lengths of colour. Taking a wander in the woods to clear my head from all those words and ideas, I became aware of all the plants and trees, shrubs, little bushes, fungi and bugs all around me in a riot of vibrational energies rising up through the trees, emanating down from the sun, rippling underground as mycelium.

The first in the series is simply patterns of energetic forms. I find it interesting to look at, but it fell short of the idea that the forest is a myriad of energetic lifeforms reaching up and out.

Joyous is the second in the series, acknowledging the rising life of trees from deep in the roots, the outward spread of life in the vast web of fungi mycelium. The background horizons are actually two curves intersecting as layers of the forest floor.
